Enjoy the view from Fjellveien on a guided bike tour in Bergen, where you are biking through the city’s history; Old Bergen, Bryggen, Fishery Museum.Guided bike tour in the city of Bergen, where our local guide shows you the historical part of the city. We start the bike adventure in the city center, adjusting the bike to you. We will bike north along the seaside, where our first stop will be at the Norwegian Fishery museum. Here you will take a close look at Norway’s oldest industry, and get to taste Bergen’s oldest export commodity, stockfish. Stockfish is actually Norway's longest sustained export commodity, started with the Vikings. Bergen had for almost 800 years the monopoly of trading stockfish.
The tour continues to Old Bergen Museum, beautiful outdoor museum with authentic houses form the 1800 century when Bergen was Europe’s largest city of wooden houses. After this there we go up hill, walking with the bikes is optional, up to the mountain road “Fjellveien”. In Fjellveien we will have a nature experience with great views of the city picture stops, before trundling back to the city and Bryggen for more history of fish trade on the location on UNESCO's list of world heritage.
Route info: Flat bike road and downhill most of the way, but one hill up to Fjellveien. The route is approx. 8,5 km all together.
Included: Personal guide. Rent of high quality city bikes, helmet and locks for the bikes. Tickets to Fishery museum and taste of stockfish. No meals.
Practical information: Bikes and necessary equipment will be provided at Bergen Basecamp in the city center. Here you will meet your personal guide. We will go through the equipment with you and adjust the bikes for you before you leave. We recommended you to bring a water bottle, sport shoes, warm and windproof clothing, extra clothing depend upon season, camera and sunglasses. Remember to dress according to the weather. The guide will bring necessary safety equipment.

16.00: Norway’s Fishing Museum (2 km)
16.30: Gamle Bergen (2 km)
17.00: Bryggen via Fjellveien (4,5 km)
18.00: Back at Bergen Basecamp
