Biking on hills, roaming through Arad’s vineyards and forests, enjoying the views of Siria fortress, drink from a miracle spring with its legends and taste a good local wine… Sounds like a great day, right?
We will drive to Siria, Arad County, determined to get on Zarad Mountains ridge. Once in Siria, we get our bikes, let some air in the wheels and hit the road. We will go up to the Siria Citadel hill (“Enlightened Fortress”), dating from the thirteenth century. We will learn a few things about it and enjoy the great views.
Further on, we will get deep in the forest. Pedaling slowly, after a short while, nature surrounds us, getting us into a realm of peace.
The next objective is Feredeu monastery. The place of worship was built near a healing spring. It will pe perfect to taste the cold healing water, while listening the stories about it.
Also, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the extensive gardens and vineyards dotted with picturesque wineries and huts.
The route continues biking on the main ridge where diverse landscape, dynamics and colouring of the seasons are natural elements that give value to these places.
End route takes place at the beautiful and rustic Monica&Geza Guesthouse, where after a traditional meal, guests can spoil themselves with wine tasting of the exquisite types of wines, specific to this area.
If you are not to tired after all of these, we can do a short hike to the Soimos Fortress, and enjoy a beautiful sunset above the Mures river.
