Starting off from the Independence Memorial Hall, you will be visiting the best places in Colombo. Independence Memorial Hall is situated in the heart of Colombo and surrounded by shopping malls and restaurants. You will see the statue of the first prime minister of the country Rt. Hon. Don Stephen Senanayake, also known as “The Father of the Nation”, located at the head of the monument. You can explore this for 30 - 45 minutes.
Then you will be visiting the National Museum, which is the largest museum in Sri Lanka. This museum contains valuable collections, such as the regalia of the country, including the throne and crown of the Kandyan monarchs as well as many other exhibits telling the story of ancient Sri Lanka. You can explore this up to 2 full hours.
After lunch, you will be visiting the Gangaramaya Temple, its museum and the park. You will find the amazing atmosphere in the temple with all the statues, wall paintings, calm and collected people and the museum.
