The tour begins at the Vračar plateau, where you’ll see one of the most important sights of Belgrade. The edifice dominating over the square, Saint Sava Temple, is one of the biggest orthodox temples on the Balkans. Besides the temple plateau also hosts the so-called Small Saint Sava Church and a bronze monument dedicated to Saint Sava created by Russian sculptor Klikov. In the park by the road side there is a monument dedicated to Karađorđe Petrović, leader of the First Serbian Uprising. National Serbian Library is located right here to the right.
Nikola Tesla Museum was founded in 1952. and is located in the center of Belgrade in one of the residential villas from 1929. Tesla’s wish was that his relative Sava Kosanović inherits all the documentation and Tesla’s personal things, and this is why Belgrade Museum is the only one in the world that keeps original personal belongings of the great scientist. The museum also preserves the urn with Tesla’s ashes. Learn interesting facts about the scientist that changed current of history and invented rotating magnetic field and complete system of production and distribution of electrical energy (motors, generators) based on the use of alternate currents. His name was given to the SI unit for magnetic induction ("tesla"). Tesla also constructed the generators of high-frequency alternate currents and high-voltage coreless transformer known today as "Tesla Coil".
