It was named after "gate of heavenly peace", this square contains the Monument of the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.
Then you will walk to the Forbidden City. It was formerly known as the imperial palace of China, which covers an area of over 720,000 square meters, has 8704 rooms and construction area of 150,000 square meters. The Forbidden City was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, it is the China's largest and most completed ancient buildings. It was first built in 1406 and finished in 1420. In its 600 years of history, there were 24 emperors living here.
After having an amazing visit in Forbidden City, you will head to Summer Palace. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List. It declared the Summer Palace "a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design. The natural landscape of hills and open water are combined with artificial features such as pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges to form a harmonious ensemble of outstanding aesthetic value".
During the ride and tour, your English speaking guide will explain the histories and stories about the Beijing city as well as the Summer Palace.
If time and traffic allow, your tour will also includes the Beijing Olympic Stadiums by stopping at the Beijing National Stadium and Beijing National Aquatics Center.
