You choose from one of five options for the duration of the passport with no limits on how often you travel back and forth. The Beautiful South Iceland Bus Passport allows you to visit all of our destinations in southern Iceland. You choose from one of five options for the duration of the passport with no limits on how often you travel back and forth. The passport is valid for all of the Iceland On Your Own routes in southern Iceland.The buses depart from the Reykjavík camp site in Laugardalur at 07:15 and 07:30 every morning, from there you are taken to the BSI Bus Terminal where you exchange your voucher for the actual Hiking Passport. The buses depart from the BSI Bus Terminal at 08:00 every morning, there are also a couple of departures from BSI later in the day.*
This passport is an open ticket for all of our buses in the south throughout the chosen time frame. You can choose a passport that is valid for 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 days. Whether you have an itinerary ready or would like to decide your stops on the go, this passport is the perfect means towards carefree travels in the south.
Whether you choose a 3 day option, an 11 day option or something in between this passport offers good value to the independent traveller. You can choose to board the bus at any of the stops available without making reservations. You should note, however, that accommodations might have to be booked in advance.
Some of the most spectacular and renowned destinations in Iceland are found in the south of Iceland and this passport is your key to most, if not all, of them. Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area, Mount Hekla, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Þórsmörk nature reserve, Landmannalaugar, Eldgjá, Skaftafell, Laki craters and Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon to name a few.
For hikers, the Beautiful South Iceland Bus Passport is also an excellent choice. It is valid for Þórsmörk, Skaftafell, Skógar and Landmannalaugar, all of which offer superb hiking trails. In Emstrur and Laki you have the possibility of experiencing untouched nature, off the beaten path. If you would like to extend your travels to the north or the east, Gullfoss, Landamannalaugar and Höfn have bus connections.
The Beautiful South iceland Bus Passport is valid from 13 June to 7 September*. Note that some routes start later or end earlier, please observe each individual schedule. Road and weather conditions might affect individual routes as well.
