9am - Depart for Batu Caves, a limestone outcrop and 272 steps climb takes to the temple of Hindu deity Lord Subramaniam who is honored during the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in January or February every year. The statue of the Hindu deity stands at 140 feet and was built at a cost of 2.5 million ringgit. The 140 meters statue of Hindu deity Lord Subramaniam is mesmerizing.
1pm - Lunch at the elephant conservation center is followed by a video show on catching and the re-location of rogue elephants.
2pm - Have a briefing on the elephants. After that, have some time feeding and petting the gentle giants. Bathing of the elephants is subject to river conditions. Bring an extra changing clothes just in case.
4pm - A relaxed drive through the countryside to Bukit Melawati in Kuala Selangor.
6pm - On arrival, have some time feeding and interacting with the monkeys. These friendly silvered leaf monkeys live in clusters of 6 to 10 and their infants are orange in color and after 3 months turn silver. They live on young leaves, wild shoots and fruits. This is a unique brush with nature and a take-home experience.
7pm - Seafood dinner at a riverside cafe.
8pm - Take an enjoyable boat ride to watch fireflies fizzing along the mangroves. The fireflies congregate on mangrove trees like dazzling lights on a Christmas tree. They flash synchronously through a biochemical reaction in organs on their bottoms.
