Walk the path of the Duke of Wellington during his famous first victory during the Peninsular War – The Battle of Vimeiro. Visit all the important places that made this immortal battle: The Hill of Vimeiro, the combat of the church, Ventosa hill, and much more. Learn the tactics, remember the Generals and join “the thin red” in the defence or the "Invincibles" in the attack . You may yet taste an historical lunch from the period. The tour begins at the Hill of Vimeiro. This is the place where the British Army sustained the French attacks during the morning of 21 of August 1808.

Get on the move and cross “the lines” to the French side, and visit General Junot Command post during the battle. From here you will “see” the massive French columns forming towards the British line.

Next, visit the churchyard where the 43rd Foot defended the village of Vimeiro from a brutal attack from General Kellerman French Grenadiers. There will be time to take a picture at Sir Arthur Wellesley headquarters.

Let's rest for awhile and enjoy a delicious Portuguese 3-course meal.

Then march to Ventosa hill to see a panoramic view of the battlefield and the palce where the French General Brenier was captured by a Scottish soldier.

Later walk alongside the sandy beach of Porto Novo and Santa Rita where the British reinforcements and the Army under the command of General Moore disembarked.
