We start from Donostia / San Sebastian and we will travel to the village of Idiazabal, visit the museum and walk around the area to visit a traditional farm of this famous and recognized cheese. After a varied cheese tasting we will head for the fishing town of Getaria.

The charming fishing village is also the birthplace of Juan Sebastián Elcano (Getaria, 1487-1526) the first man to sail around the world. It is probably one of the medieval historical centers that best reflects the passage of time. We’re definitely at a privileged place in the geography of Gipuzkoa. Let’s enter the old quarter to eat grilled fish at one of its famous restaurants in the fishing port itself.

After a nice walk around the village, we will visit a txakoli winery to understand the autochthonous process of making this particular sparkling wine elaborated form a unique vine. These grape, Hondarrabi-Zuri and Hondarrabi-Beltza, receives the gentle caress of the breeze from the Cantabrian Sea, which makes this wine so special in the world.

After a wine tasting and a tour of the winery we start our way back to Donostia / San Sebastian, where we can relax or choose from a pintxos route or dinner in a gastronomic society of the city.
