Dive into Barcelona, the most vibrant city in Europe! In three short days, the local guide will reveal the best Barcelona has to offer! The local guide will navigate you through the Barri Gotic to visit famous icons such as Las Ramblas, Park Guell, and the Sagrada Familia. Take part in cultural experiences, such as a traditional Spanish Flamenco show and a paella cooking class. Friday, Day 1: Historic Heart
The official tour kicks off Friday at 10am at Urbany Hostel. The guide will go over some important details, then it’s off to the beautiful cobble-stoned side streets of the medieval old town, Barri Gotic. After an hour, the group will continue towards Europe’s most famous shopping street, La Rambla. Stop for souvenirs and photo ops along the way as we visit for 45 minutes. Now knowing Barcelona’s medieval town, the tour guide will lead you to one of our favorite local Spanish joints for a bite to eat.
After a 1-hour lunch, you will spend the afternoon on Barcelona’s picturesque golden beachfront for a bike tour along the boardwalk. The bike tour will then detour through the Parc de la Ciutadella for a 2-hour visit bursting with cheery locals, and lined with museums, gardens, and the Barcelona Zoo. After a quick siesta back at the hostel, rendezvous at 8:45pm for a traditional 2-hour Spanish paella class. Dress to stay out, because it’s on for Barcelona’s nightlife that go until the sun rises!
Saturday, Day 2: Modernist Expansion
Catch a light breakfast at the hostel by 10:30am, before zipping across town to geek out at Antonio Gaudi’s most ambitious project, the Sagrada Familia. Spend an hour admiring this architectural masterpiece that is unlike any other. Upon leaving the cathedral, take a hike up to Park Guell, another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces, for a striking panoramic view of the city for 2 hours.
Enjoy the rest of your afternoon off, then regroup at the hostel at 7pm for another night out on the scene! Enjoy a group picnic during the Magic Fountain show at Plaza Espana. We will bring the cava (Spanish wine), but bring your own food and additional beverages. After a 2-hour dinner, the traditional Spanish Flamenco is next at an intimate venue in the Barri Gotic. Tap your feet to the music, while watching a traditional festive dance show (2 hours) rooted deeply in Spanish culture, Stick around, because it’s a Saturday night in Barcelona! Rip back over 200 different types of shots with us at Chupitos, or dance the night away with us at the beachfront clubs like Opium or Pacha.
Sunday, Day 3: Catalan Barcelona
Come with us to see the typical Catalan Sardana Dances in the shadow of Barcelona’s Cathedral. Want to break a sweat and have a free afternoon? Head up the Montjuic for some fantastic views over the entire city and the Mediterranean. Tour members are free to depart whenever to catch their flights or trains home!
