Full day comprehensive tour of Barcelona, where in the morning, you will be able to experience most of the landmarks of Barcelona, on a comfortable air conditioned bus, the cable car, and get a closer look of the old quarter of town, with a professional guided walking tour.
In the afternoon, you will tour Barcelona’s distinctive Catalan Modernism, on a combined bus and walking tour, to enjoy the artistic and architectural treasures of the great innovator of his times, Antonio Gaudi.You will start with a bus sightseeing tour that will take you up the elegant Passeig de Gràcia, where you will see the most famous Gaudi houses. From there, we will continue towards the sea where you will be able to see the big changes that the city underwent, with the Olympic Games in 1992. We will drive by the Arc de Triomf, Ciutatdella Park, the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta. Port Vell, Colon Plaza (square), with its famous Columbus monument, indicating the way he sailed to discover America. This point is also the beginning of the famous Ramblas of Barcelona.
You will continue the visit driving up to Montjuïc where you will make a short stop in the Olympic Stadium Lluis Companys. You will continue driving up to Montjuïc Castle where you will take a cable car ride with wonderful views of the city. The bus will pick you up at the station, and we will continue our Montjuïc visit passing by the sports facilities built for the 1992 Olympic Games: the Lluis Companys stadium, the Palau Sant Jordi, the Olympic swimming pool Picornell, until we get to Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village). In this charming place you will admire a collection of traditional buildings from all over Spain, also having a selection of the handcrafts made in this country.
After the visit of the Spanish village, we will drive back towards the city centre, to be able to appreciate the Venetian Towers, the Montjuïc fountains, the National Palace Museum MNAC and “Las Arenas” shopping centre, rebuilt over the ancient bullring.
Then arrive at the Plaza de Catalunya, to start the guided walking tour of the old city centre. Your guide will take you to Las Ramblas, Cathedral Square, through the narrow streets of the Gothic quarter, and to the plaza Sant Jaume, where the City hall, and the headquarters of the Catalonian Government are located. The tour ends at the Placa de Catalunya.
Starting again at 3;30 PM, you will come into close contact with the Barcelona known as the capital of Modernism, where the famous architect Antoni Gaudí worked and lived. The Artistic Tour of Barcelona, will take you to the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) Basilica, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, and Barcelona's most famous landmark. The guide will take you on a walking tour of the exterior of the Sagrada Familia, to admire the richly and symbolically decorated facades, and vaults that reach up to seventy meters.
Next you will discover Gaudi's bizarre Park Güell which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour continues to Passeig de Gràcia to see Gaudi's famous Casa Batlló, Casa Mila “La Pedrera” and other modernist buildings. The tour ends near the Casa Milà “la Pedrera” at c/ Provença 261-265.
