The private tour begins with pick-up from your hotel. From there, you’ll head off to explore the famous Grand Palace and Wat Phra Keo. Bangkok’s impressive Grand Palace has an area of over 700,000 sq feet (218,400 sq m) and is surrounded by walls built in 1782, each with a length of 6,230 feet (1,900 m). Within these walls are the government offices and the Royal Chapel of the Emerald Buddha, along with the Thai royal residences. Next, discover the remarkable Wat Phra Kaeo, the most beautiful and important Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is so richly and intricately decorated that you are sure to feel as if you are in a real “city of angels” from the moment you step inside.
At 3:30pm, arrive at Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha) to explore another of Bangkok’s magnificent temples. Founded in the 16th century, this is the oldest and biggest temple with the largest number of pagodas (95 in all) in the city. It’s also well known for its huge Reclining Buddha, at 150 feet (46 m) long and 50 feet (15 m) high. A short walk from Wat Pho, you will try a traditional Thai massage, beginning at around 16:30. Unlike other massages, the Thai style involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the massage recipient changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. Then take a short stroll to Arun Residence and enjoy a drink as the sun sets behind Wat Arun.
At 6:30pm, continue to the Democracy Monument, enjoy dinner at Side Walk Cafe overlooking the monument. After dinner, board a refurbished and customized tram as it takes you on a journey through old Bangkok. Sights you’ll see on the trip include the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, the Golden Mount, Wat Ratchanaddaram, the Democracy Monument, the City Pillar Shrine, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and the National Theatre. Return to your hotel at 10:30pm, after having seen the best of Bangkok.
