Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest and most celebrated national park — and one worth getting out of the car and onto a trail for. Go back to a simpler time with a 1-hour or 2-hour horseback ride and experience the park at a relaxed pace. Led by your cowboy guide, saddle up and ride past natural sulfur springs and along the gentle Bow River, and get a feel for what it was like for pioneers first settling in this once-wild area.

Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest and most celebrated national park — and one worth getting out of the car and onto a trail for. Go back to a simpler time with a 1-hour or 2-hour horseback ride and experience the park at a relaxed pace. Led by your cowboy guide, saddle up and ride past natural sulfur springs and along the gentle Bow River, and get a feel for what it was like for pioneers first settling in this once-wild area.See Banff National Park from a different perspective — 6 or 7 feet up from the back of a friendly horse. Head to Warner Stables to meet your guide, get outfitted with your horse, and receive a safety briefing. Then head out through the park on horseback on a 1-hour or 2-hour guided tour.

On the 1-hour ride, mosey over to natural sulfur hot springs, one of nine spots in Banff where hot springs flow. Then follow the trail, which loops around a marsh and follows the gentle Bow River. Admire views of Mt Norquay and Castle Mountain in the distance as you ride.

The 2-hour ride is great for those who want to go deeper into Canada’s oldest and most celebrated national park. Follow the winding Bow River while learning about the history and nature of the area. Ascend Sulphur Mountain and ride around the historic Rimrock Resort Hotel before descending gently down the mountain again and riding along the Spray River. Touch the edge of the Fairmont Banff Spring Golf Course and then make your way back to Warner Stables.
