The process highlights:

1. Material:
Steaming from the fiber bamboo tree, very widespread shrub in villages of the regions, this paper is very unique in Vietnam.
Bamboo paper has been used as the main raw material, then combining with other creation methods of local and regionals, particularly create works of paper art named [Truc chi]
2. Time consumption:
The Manufacturing process is rather long. During a day, the fibers of bamboo tree are dipped into the water then get plastered in the wood fire during more than 12 hours with a mixture of limestone solution. Beat by hollander beater within 04 hours, get ready pulp for processing stage.
3. Experience Making Bamboo paper art:
From this point it takes around 08 hours to have it finished. However, we choose the the most entertaining part to introduce it to you creating the artworks at our workshop approximately 60 minutes to 90 minutes.
Ready bamboo pulp is mixed with water on a water tank. Then using a silk-screen deep into the water to get the pulp, forming the flat even sheet.
The creation is started while forming the sheet, on the wet sheet of paper just formed.
By using a hose, function as a water-pen, spray on top of the canvas frames to create visual images of the work.
4. What to take home?
It's up to the weather conditions to dry the artwork naturally under the sun to have it complete dry. (03 hours)
or we can use blow dryer to get it dried faster (30 minutes).
As Truc Chi artists agree, "Not only do we get to make unique creative bamboo paper art but we get to experiment with new fibers and colors. Every sheet we make is unique and individual. I love explaining the process to visitors who take tour, because most people can relate to some aspect of it. They get something out of it and are happier for their experiences."
