Bac Ha is the largest Sunday market as well as the most colorful one in the area. Here you'll meet mostly the Flower H’mong and then the Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, Nung minorities. The market offers a variety of local products, which cannot be found in other areas. The animal market is also very interesting. On this trip, you will also have opportunity to enjoy a boat cruise in Chay River.After having breakfast, you will travel by car to Bac Ha, which is 70 km northeast of Lao Cai. The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, where you will be taken through a rural area. Bac Ha is the largest market in the area, situated inside the small town of Bac Ha. On every sunday morning, it is literally a riot of color as many different ethnic groups such as the Flower H’mong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay and Nung minorities gather to trade. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.(not included)

After lunch, you'll drive downhill for about half an hour. You will then start a short walk to Trung Do village which belongs to the Tay minority. In case the Chay river’s water level is high enough, you will get on a motor-boat and have a cruise to Bao Nhai, experiencing the picturesque scenes on the river banks. If the cruise is not possible then you'll cross the river to visit a Flower Hmong village before walking along the river in around 2 hours to Bao Nhai bridge, where your vehicle will await for your journey back.
