Your day starts with a walking guided tour of Avignon historic center. Admire the famous Avignon Bridge, walk up to the Rock of the Doms and gardens to enjoy a panoramic view on Pope city. Explore narrow streets, cathedral, town hall square and church with your guide or you can decide to visit the Pope palace with audio-guide on your own.
Meet your guide in Marseille and drive to Fontaine de Vaucluse, a beautiful village famous for its spring. Walk along the Sorgues river to visit the paper mill and learn everything about the natural paper making process.
Stop to take photos at a panoramic viewpoint and admire the medieval hilltop village of Gordes, listed by UNESCO. Spend some free time in Gordes where you can have lunch (own expense) visit the caves, church or Saint Firmin palace.
Continue your tour with a drive to an isolated valley to discover the Cistercian abbey of Sénanque, built among the lavender fields. In summer this is a beautiful place for a photo stop. Next, head to the ochre village of Roussillon, called the "Provençal Colorado". You will have free time to visit the village or take a half-hour walk along the ochre path.
Drive along one of the most beautiful roads in the Luberon park, passing the village of Bonnieux and the Roman bridge Pont Julien, to reach the village of Lourmarin. Famous for its 18th century castle, it is where Peter Mayle stayed while writing his novel A Year in Provence. Your tour will end when you arrive back in Marseille.
