This is a tour to enjoy a bowl of matcha (green powder tea) and Wagashi, Japanese sweets. You will be introduced to the history and the culture of Japanese tea through tea ceremony in a casual setting. Later, you will take a short walk to the nearby stores to find your favorite tea and sweets. There will be specialists to attend to your needs. Some samples are also available at each store.

This is a tour to enjoy a bowl of matcha (green powder tea) and Wagashi, Japanese sweets. You will be introduced to the history and the culture of Japanese tea through tea ceremony in a casual setting. Later, you will take a short walk to the nearby stores to find your favorite tea and sweets. There will be specialists to attend to your needs. Some samples are also available at each store.You will be welcomed by an interpreter at the ticket gate of Toritsu-daigaku station (Tokyu Toyoko Line). It will only be a five-minute taxi ride to the tearoom.
You will enjoy the full experience of an authentic Japanese tea ceremony and a nice bowl of matcha. Pay close attention to the experienced host's elegant motion as she prepares the tea for you.
Later, you will be taken out for a short walk along the beautiful pedestrian path. This is a popular area in the spring when cherry blossoms are in bloom.
Your first destination is a tea shop where the tea master selects a couple of varieties of green tea to serve you. Each tea has its own characteristics and should be served at an appropriate temperature. You will be amazed at the differences in the aromas and tastes of each green tea. Tea utensils, as well as packs of tea, are available for sale.
The last stop is a Japanese sweets shop. The shop has a wide selection of traditional to modern styles of Japanese sweets. Some of the sweets are fresh and should be consumed within a day or two while others can be stored longer. They are perfect for gifts.
The tour concludes as you receive a little gift of Japanese sweets. Your interpreter will see you off at Toritsu-daigaku station.
