This 1.5-hour segway tour will take you on a guided journey that visits the Capitol, the Driskill Hotel and other spook-tacular haunts! Step back in time and learn about ghostly sightings, buildings with visitors who never leave and learn of the 'other side' of what helps make Austin weird!You will meet your guide in downtown Austin and begin with a safety orientation and individualized training on the segway before departing for your haunted tour of the city. Training time is included in the trip's 1.5-hour duration.
Then see if you run into former state comptroller Robert Marshall Love who was shot at his desk in the early 1900s by a stranger, or spot the ghost of Governor Edmund Jackson Davis in the windows of the Capitol. You'll stop by the Governor's Mansion and learn about the terrible secret of Governor Pendleton Murrah's nephew and why house staff refused to enter the room for many years.
Also, don't forget to take in the sights and learn all about Austin's very own Moonlight towers! Still standing today, the towers were originally constructed in the late 1800s to try to stop the first recorded serial killer in America, the Servant Girl Annihilator. Then you'll head down Congress Avenue, stopping at the Paramount Theater to learn about the reasons why it's not uncommon for voices to be heard but not seen in this building. This tour also stops at the historic Driskill Hotel, a place well known and documented for its extensive haunting. Learn about Colonel Driskill's tragic start to his hotel as well as the events that led to his ghost having unfinished business. Then explore the rest of Austin as you enjoy the night on a segway!
