The Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp complex was the largest of its kind established by the Nazi regime. Today, the Memorial, which was founded in 1947 by the Polish government and added by UNESCO to its list of World Heritage Sites in 1979, is devoted to the memory of the murders that took place during World War II.You will start the tour with a private transfer from your hotel or accommodation in Krakow to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum. Once you reach the complex, you and your group will be on a self-guided tour throughout the camps. The first camp you will see is Auschwitz I and then you will proceed to the second camp, which is Birkenau.
