Embark on this 10-hour day tour to discover the majestic Atlas Mountains. As you travel by 4x4 and minivan, you will pass by many berber villages before landing in Imlil Valley. There, you will enjoy a traditional lunch as well as hiking along the rustic terrain.Start the day with a pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad come 8:00am. Once everyone in the group has been retrieved, you will begin your 1.5-hour drive into the rural side of Morocco. Traveling by 4WD or minivan, observe the Moulay Brahim Gorges along with the berber village of Asni. This village is very popular for its weekly market activity every Saturday, then head to Ait Maizan Valley. After passing by each area, you will finally arrive in Imlil.
Imlil is a small village at the foothills of the highest mountains in Morocco, Jbel Toubkal. It is quite the popular starting point of trekking and hiking, along with connecting several berber villages. Upon your arrival, leave your vehicle to being your trek towards the southern berber village of Aroumd. As this is set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, you will see streams and paths branching out in multiple directions. Enjoy lunch in a luxury riad amongst the village before returning to Marrakech.
