First stop is the ancient theater, Odeon Herodio Attikon, just below the Acropolis. Next on the route is Filopappou Hill, which gives an amazing view of the Acropolis and over the roofs of Athens.
Continue your trip downhill along Thissio into the area called Plaka. This is the ancient market street just underneath the Acropolis hill. One of the stops will be the ancient Roman Marketplace with the Tower of the Winds. Leaving the Plaka area and heading for the Statue of Kolokotroni and the old Parliament, you will see the Academy of Athens and the National Library.
Now it is time to go uphill to reach the top of Lykabettos Hill, which is with 277 meter the highest point of the center of Athens. Once again you will enjoy the breathtaking view over Athens.
Descending on the other side of Lykabbetos, cross Kolonaki one of the best shopping areas of Athens to reach the Syntagma square with the new parliament and its traditional guards (Tsoliades) From here you are heading to the Panathinaiko Stadium, passing through the National Garden with the Zappio Megaro, the first building that was build exclusively for the Olympic Games. Panathinaiko Stadium is where the first Olympic Games were held in 1896. Now you are getting close to the end of your trip. Last but not least, pass the Temple of Olympian Zeus and reach your last stop.
