After your cruise ship arrives in Aruba, your shore excursion starts at the port, where you’ll be picked up for your 4x4 tour.
Meet your guide and listen to a quick safety overview, and then hop in your open-air 4x4 vehicle — you can either take the wheel, if you wish, or settle into a passenger seat. The 4-person vehicles feature extra comfortable seats to cushion you from Aruba’s rugged landscape.
As your caravan makes its way to the Natural Pool, stop along the way at natural and historical landmarks like the Gold Mill Ruins, where you can see remains of Aruba’s gold-prospecting days. You’ll also check out the ruins of the Natural Bridge, a naturally formed limestone bridge on the island’s northeast coast that crumbled in 2005.
Continue to Arikok National Park, a protected piece of Aruba that covers almost 20 percent of the island. Take a fun, bumpy ride through the park to the Natural Pool — also known as conchi — a swimming spot formed by volcanic rock that sits right on the shore. Inaccessible by regular cars, the Natural Pool gives you the feeling that you’ve ‘discovered’ a piece of the island that many visitors don’t make the effort to visit.
Put on your provided snorkeling gear and jump in the water to see coral and colorful fish. You can also cool off with provided water and soda during your hour of free time here. When you leave the Natural Pool, stop off for lunch or dinner (depending on your departure time). After the meal, you'll be transferred back to the port.
