Begin your day meeting your informative, friendly Alaskan guide who is certain to make the day a memorable one. Prior to departure take part in a brief tour orientation to set the stage for your adventure in Alaska's Arctic.
Head north in the personalized comfort of our tour coaches and vans. The guide will share with you the story of Alaska's Arctic throughout the day both while you are in motion and at the various stops throughout the day. The final number of stops and length of stops will vary since it is a tour. If all guests are ready to go the tour will continue, if you have more questions for the guide or more photos to take the stop will be longer before you continue on. Plus, for your comfort and safety the guide will operate at a speed on the Dalton Highway appropriate for the weather and road conditions.
As you make your way out of town you will begin to learn the history of the gold rush and what brought early pioneers to Interior Alaska.
Throughout the day the remarkable Trans Alaska Pipeline will shadow your journey and the guide will make a stop to take pictures and to explain in detail the history and the workings of this engineering marvel.
Visit the Arctic Circle Trading post situated in the rural community of Joy, Alaska. You are now 60 miles out of Fairbanks. Here you will learn about life in rural Alaska.
Begin travel on the rugged Dalton Highway, the solitary land route of Alaska's Arctic wilderness. The Dalton Highway begins 84 miles out of Fairbanks.
Marvel at the majestic beauty of the northland's most famous waterway, the Yukon River, and learn of the river's stored past. You will stop at the Yukon River twice during your journey. Your first stop will be approximately 11:30 am. During this time you will have a chance to pick up a sack lunch if needed. The second stop will be on your way south and will be approximately 5:30 pm. At this time you have a chance to order a sit down dinner. Each stop will be about 45 to 60 minutes. This will give you enough time to learn from your guide the important role the Yukon River plays to transportation and communication to the villages along the river, explore and take photos on your own, and purchase lunch and /or eat dinner.

For many, this is the reason to take the journey and your guide is sure to make it a memorable stop. This is the turnaround point for the day and will take place at approximately 2:00 pm. But not to worry, the guide still has a wealth of information they will share on the southbound journey.
