Take a 1-hour train journey through the Roman countryside to Castel Gandolfo. Enjoy a visit to the Apostolic Palace and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure. Then board the train and you will be off to Castel Gandolfo. The town itself is located in the Lazio region of Italy. It overlooks Lake Albano and  is home to the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo. Although situated within Castel Gandolfo, the residence is actually under the jurisdiction of the Holy See, part of the sovereign Vatican City.
