Your day trip begins at Simpson Bay Resort in southwest St Maarten (on the Dutch side), where you'll board your catamaran, the Tango, for the 30-minute cruise to Anguilla, about 12 miles (19 km) north of St Maarten.
As you set out from the marina, watch the crew hoist up the sails and take pleasure in being out on the open Caribbean. Munch on the provided snacks and drinks on board while you enjoy the breeze and soak up the sun. When you reach Anguilla, pull into beautiful Cove Bay, home of Smokey’s at the Cove, one of the island’s most popular waterfront restaurants.
Hop off the catamaran and make yourself comfortable at Smokey’s, where a delicious barbecue lunch awaits you. While you eat, enjoy views of the turquoise sea and sip on a tropical cocktail (lunch included; drinks at own expense). Then stretch out on the beach or go swimming, if you wish, before heading to Dolphin Discovery, about 15 minutes east along Anguilla's southern coast.
After an introduction to the etiquette of dolphin interaction, hop in the water with your dolphin guide to begin your selected activity. You have three options; all options are 30 minutes.
Dolphin Encounter Swim:
As you relax in the water, your guide will take you through several interactions. These include a hug, handshake, hand target (dolphin jumps toward your hands), games with balls and other toys, dancing, a dolphin kiss and free time with the dolphins.
Dolphin Adventure Swim:
A bit more interactive, this option includes a hug, hand target, games with balls and other toys, dancing, a dolphin kiss and free time with the dolphins, plus a belly ride and boogie push, where the dolphin pushes you through the water as you lie on a boogie board.
Dolphin Royal Swim:
The third option includes a hug, dolphin kiss, handshake and free time with the dolphins, plus a dorsal tow and a foot push, during which the dolphins lift you up above the water by your feet.
After your dolphin activity, you can relax on the beach and go snorkeling until it’s time to head back to Cove Bay to re-board your catamaran for the return sail to St Maarten.
