Sail in beautiful Lake Michigan in between The Shedd Aquarium and Navy Pier, aboard the famous America’s Cupyachts: ‘Stars and Stripes’ and ‘Abracadabra.’ This tour could be either public or a private charter for client entertainment or team building. These are the “only pair” of these style yachts in the USA (America’s Cup is ‘match-racing’, one-against-one, head-to-head tight quarters on the largest most high-tech yachts of their time = the “only” place in the USA for this experience).

The vessel “Stars & Stripes” raced in the America’s Cup series in San Diego in 1995. It was owned and raced by one of America’s most famous yachtsman, 4-time America’s Cup winner ‘Dennis Conner’. The other vessel is “Abracadabra” from the 2000 America’s Cup raced in New Zealand. It was built for the Hawaiian syndicate from the Waikiki Yacht Club and painted / autographed by famous marine artist ‘Wyland’.

Private or corporate events provide a 3.0 hour hands-on experience of a team-building nature, or for simply exciting leisure activity (Typical sailing times are 9:30am to 12:30 pm or 1:30pm to 4:30pm with some flexibility)

These yachts can accommodate up to 20 guests each (plus three crew). Groups larger than 40 can also be accommodated. The yachts are based at 31st Street Marina (easy to find, easy parking, additional facilities). Your group will ‘race’ in the protected waters within the breakwater, between the Shedd Aquarium & Navy Pier, right up against the city skyline. The local operator will provide an orientation of the yachts while at the dock. In addition to showing you the controls that you may operate and the safety features, they'll also share the history of the yachts, and the America’s Cup, past, present & future.
