Experience the Alaskan wilderness from the driver’s seat of a Tomcar off-road utility vehicle on this Ketchikan adventure tour. In the dense rainforest 30 minutes outside of town, drive your 2-person Tomcar along a 14-mile (22-km) circuit of unpaved mountainous tracks, checking out waterfalls, wildlife and amazing views of Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal and the Inside Passage. An experienced guide ensures your safety, and transport from Ketchikan is included. Not for the faint of heart, this activity is bumpy and may leave you quite dirty, so be prepared! After pickup at the designated departure point, located at the Ketchikan cruise port, travel by coach about 30 minutes into the forest, where your Alaskan off-roading adventure begins.

Spend about 20 minutes here at base camp meeting your guide, putting on your gear and listening to a safety briefing about how to drive your Tomcar, the off-road utility vehicle used on the tour. Then take the helm or hop into the passenger's seat of your Tomcar (everyone gets a turn at the wheel) and take off into the wilderness!

Following your tour guide who leads the caravan, drive along the 14 miles of bumpy dirt paths, enjoying the experience of being in the Alaskan backcountry. Stop at various lookout points to take photos of waterfalls and admire the views of Behm Canal, Clover Passage, Tongass National Forest and the Inside Passage.

Watch for native wildlife like deer, eagles or maybe even a bear, and stop halfway through to enjoy a light snack and some water. At this point, you can switch drivers if you like before driving back to base camp, where you can shop in the gift shop or purchase action photos from the tour, if you wish.

Your adventure ends as you are returned by coach to your pickup point in Ketchikan.
