Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Where you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park (B/L/D)
We drive to Tarangire National Park for our first game drive in search of wildlife. Tarangire is one of the largest parks in Tanzania and is located in the Manyara region. It is characterized by the large herds of elephants and tree climbing lions that call it home, as well as the fascinating baobab trees renowned by the locals for their mythical powers.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park (B/L/D)
We depart for Serengeti National Park famed for the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras. In this bout of territorial conquests and mating, witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters.
Days 4 & 5: Serengeti North (B/L/D)
Another game drive follows viewing the great migration at Mara area. The key feature is the Mara River. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Days 6 & 7: Day of the Annular Eclipse, Serengeti Central (B/L/D)
This is the day of the most awaited Annular Eclipse. We will leave our accommodation early in the morning and take our packed breakfast with us. We will arrive at the eclipse site at 6:30am to set up our equipment. The annular eclipse starts at 6:50am and should reach its maximum at 8:38am. The height of the annular eclipse will last for about 3 minutes, and the end of the retreating eclipse will be at 10:35am.
This spectacular event is followed by a game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great migration trails in Serengeti Central Seronera.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour with picnic descent to the crater floor for the day tour. Some 20,000 mammals live in the area including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see these amazing creatures.
Day 9: Lake Manyara - Arusha (B/L)
After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara, which is known for its tree-climbing lions. As visitors enter the gate, they pass into the lush forest; home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. Buffaloes and hippos also lurch in the adjacent Hippo Pool. In the afternoon, we head back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
