Take advantage of a great opportunity to explore the incredible Sólheimajökull Glacier on this one and a half hour hike, exploring to view the great crevasses and moulins.
Begin the tour as you meet your guide at the foot of the Glacier, located in Southern Iceland, approximately two hours away from Skaftafell or Reykjavik. Before you make your way through the glacier valley, your guide will give you a short introduction to the equipment that you will be using and a safety briefing.
From there, make your way to the glacier tongue where you will put on your Crampons (Ice Cleats) and enter the icy valley. Your guide will help the group safely navigate around the crevasses and moulins that mark the glacier, and provide a wealth of information about the formation and development of the the glaciers over time. At the conclusion, your guide will help guide you back out where you are free to explore the surrounding area or carry on with your day.
