This 8-day program takes you to the main attractions of the Galapagos Island with visits to San Cristobal, Santa Cruz and Isabela. The islands are the perfect combination of fertile volcanic land and unique flora and fauna species. These animals inspired Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection after his visit in 1835. This beautiful journey will take you to amazing landscapes located 1,000 kms from the South American continent.Day 1 (D): A guide will be waiting for you at the airport to pick you up and to bring you to Isabela Island. Head to the Flamingo Lagoon, the main reproductive site for Flamingos at the Galapagos.
Day 2 (B,L,D): Take a 5-hour hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano, where you will see special vegetation and many kinds of birds. If you don't want to do the hike, you may opt to do some snorkeling at Los Tuneles for an additional cost for $60 p.p. Have a box lunch at 'Volcan Chico', where you can feel the warmth in the earth as proof of the volcano's activity. After lunch, you will go to Concha Perla to snorkel along side sea lions, sea turtles and many colorful tropical fish.
Day 3: (B,L,D): In the morning you will go to Rancho Primiciato to see the Giant Tortoises. In the afternoon you will go to the lava tunnels, close to El Mirador, where you will see different vegetation and wildlife.
Day 4 (B,L,D): Go to Floreana Island to discover the human history of the islands. First, you will go to Post Office Bay, once used as a post office during whaling times. Then, explore the north shore to see marine life such as rays, sea turtles and sea lions. Then, go to the La Mirador de la Baronesa view point where you'll learn about the mangroves.
*There is the possibility of changes in the itinerary in this day due to availability, weather conditions and National Park regulations. This is why we offer an alternative island visit with similar activities if needed: Santa Fe Island. Here, you can go snorkeling and you can watch sea lions, stingrays, goldfish. Then you will go sport fishing. In the end, you will visit the hidden beach: Playa Escondida.
Day 5 (B,L,D): Today you will go to the Charles Darwin Research Station and interact with giant tortoises, then go to Tortuga Bay with its white sand and magical blue waters. It is possible to spot marine iguanas and flamingos here.
Day 6 (B,L,D): In the morning you will visit the El Garrapatero Beach. This beautiful beach, surrounded by Mangroves, has many birds, such as flamingos and herons. Here, you have a perfect opportunity to go snorkeling, then it's off to El Trapiche. You can see the lifestyle of local people here. They will show you how to produce sugar and coffee the traditional way.
Day 7 (B,L,D): Go to the Cerro Mesa viewpoint where you'll find several plants and finches. Then, you'll go to German's beach with different vegetation, wildlife and a different landscape. Then, you will go to Las Grietas where you may swim between the rocks in the sea and see more sea life.
Day 8 (B): On your last day, you will be brought to the airport. On your way, stop by at a viewpoint over the Twin Craters. These are not real craters, but they look like it. After, continue your way to the airport where your tour will end.
