Discover the Mosel and the Saar while they meander through the beautiful landscape between Saarburg and Koblenz. Your route, takes you through river valleys over mainly flat, lanes and roads surrounded by imposing castles on the hills around you.
The history of this region even goes back to the Roman Era, some 2.000 years ago. Beautiful timbered houses, vineyards, the Porta Nigra in Trier, the “German corner” (conjunction of Moselle and Rhine) in Koblenz and Saarburg (also known as “little Venice”) are but a few of the highlights during this trip.
On day 1, you will arrive during the afternoon. In the evening, you will have the opportunity to explore Saarburg.
The first cycle days starts on the second day. A bike tour from Saarburg to Wasserbillig in Luxemburg. There is also an optional excursion which you can book on board.
On day 3, you can cycle via Pfalzel to Mehring, the largest winegrowers community in the Moselle-Saar-Ruwer region.
On day 4, you will reach Bernkastel-Kues by bike. In the evening you will have the opportunity to join a wine-tasting at a local winegrower (optional excursion: bookable on board).
On day 5, brings you to romantic Traben-Trarbach, city of Jugendstil, and the largest wine village on the river, Zell, well known through the wine “Zeller Schwarze Katz”.
The tour on day 6 ends in Cochem with the Reichsburg.
The last day of the cycle tour is day 7. After a beautiful last cycling tour the ship waits for you in Alken, one of the oldest cities along the Moselle. Sail to Koblenz, where you will stay for the night.
The tour will end on day 8, after the breakfast.
