It is a unique and a varied journey to experience two different counties.Making the tour between Amsterdam and Bruges by boat and bicycle is a fascinating, varied journey through two countries: the Netherlands and northern Belgium (Flanders).
Discover the most beautiful cities of Holland and Flanders such as: Amsterdam, Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges, where you still can feel the charm from the old days. It is a unique and a varied journey to experience two different counties.
On day 1 you will arrive during the afternoon. Around 2pm the ship will leave from Amsterdam to Breukelen. By the end of the afternoon the barge takes you to Vianen, a small fortified town on the river Lek.
On day two there is a beautiful cycle route that will lead you to Kinderdijk. There an impressive row of 19 large windmills appears (UNESCO cultural heritage). You can visit one of these mills.
On day 3 the ship will sail during breakfast to Tholen. From here it will sails through the impressive port of Antwerp to the city. After dinner there is a visit to the beautiful old city centre.
On day 4 there is a cycle route to Zeeschelde. There is a beautiful bike path along the river which to follow to eather St-Amands or Dendermonde.
Day 5 will bring the guest to Ghent. From Dendermonde you will follow the river in the direction of Ghent. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to discover the city some more, or to shop in the lively centre. The ship is docked at the lock in Merelbeke, a suburb of Ghent.
Today’s bike tour (day 6) will start just outside the city and goes through the pleasant country side of Western Flanders to Bruges. Bruges, also called the Venice of the North, is maybe the most beautiful of all Flemish cities. Dinner in town in a restaurant of your choice (recommendations available on board).
Day 7 is the last cycle day. This cycle ride will bring you along a quiet canal, through an attractive polder landscape with nice small farm houses to the North Sea Coast.
Day 8 is the end of the tour. After the breakfast there is a check-out till 11.00
