This tour gathers together all of the most impressive and attractive sights in Romania. You will see the famous and mysterious Transylvania with its old saxon cities and fortresses and the spiritual Bucovina, a place where traditions and religion stood up in time as the greatest and strongest defensive walls!
Day 1: Bucharest
Today we welcome you in Romania! Our guide will be waiting for you at the Otopeni Airport in Bucharest - Romania’s capital city.
Your guide will take you to your hotel. Dinner and accommodation in Bucharest
Day 2: Royal Castles and Dracula’s Legend
In the morning we will visit Peles Castle, probably the most beautiful castle in the entire country, built by the first Romanian king.
Later we will arrive in Bran village and visit here the famous Dracula Castle. Here we will hear numerous legends about the mysterious vampire. Next we will visit the Saxon city Brasov. This is the perfect example of Saxon medieval settlement in Transylvania and it is one of the 7 famous Saxon cities that gave the name of this region.
Accommodation follows in Brasov. In the evening we will enjoy a traditional dinner in a very good central restaurant.
Day 3: Wild life and beautiful nature in the Carpathians
Today we reach Red Lake and continue our trip through the magnificent Bicaz Canyon to reach Moldova, well known for its flourishing religious life.
In the evening we arrive in Gura Humorului for accommodation and dinner.
Day 4: Bucovina – the Painted Monasteries
We start with the famous Painted Eggs Museum, housing over 3,000 painted eggs from all over the world. After this we will see some of Bucovina’s most amazing painted monasteries: Moldovita and Sucevita. We will also stop in Marginea Village where black ceramic is produced naturally, by an 2000 years old dacian technique.
In the evening we will be back in Gura Humorului for dinner and accommodation.
Day 5: Entering Transylvania – Dracula’s Homeland
We will make a short stop in Tihuta and learn more about Dracula's legend. Our next stop will be in the city of Bistrita, a former saxon city. Than we continue towards Transylvania and, after a short visit in Targu Mures, we will reach our final destination for today, Sighisoara Citadel, where accommodation and dinner follows.
Day 6: Transylvania and wine tasting
In the morning we will visit the medieval town of Sighisoara, the last citadel in Romania still to be inhabited. Next we head towards Jidvei Castle and Cellar for a rewarding lunch and wine tasting.
Day 7: Sibiu
In Sibiu we will see the old town and discover Romania's biggest city square. After this visit, we continue our trip through the Carpathians and make a pause by the old Cozia Monastery. In the afternoon we arrive in the capital Bucharest and enjoy a great farewell folklore party follows.
Day 8: Bucharest
Today we will enjoy a guided tour of the Romanian capital and biggest city – Bucharest. We will see the charming Victoria Alley, Revolution Square, Union Square, Parliament Palace and many more. After this, we will drive you to the airport and say goodbye at the end of a great trip!
