The Sweden Adventure Week is a great way for you and your family to explore central Sweden, just two hours from Stockholm. The week includes 4 activities which leaves you lots of opportunities to discover the Swedish countryside yourself. During the week, you will stay in your own apartment at the Färna Guesthouse.
Activities
Canoe trip
Paddling in the “Canadian” you will make a beautiful trip on the Black river. Halfway, on a deserted island, you will enjoy your lunch in an old villa from the 18th century. You can choose to make a trip of 10 or 14 km. It takes about 45 minutes by car to get to the starting point of this tour. Many birds are living in the area, if you are lucky you might even see the mighty sea eagle.
Life vests and a waterproof barrel are available.
Moose safari
Ever had moose droppings in your hands or seen a moose with her calf? On foot and in the safari mini-van you will go out into nature for a 5 hours trip. The guide will tell you about the moose, the other wild life and the environment. Somewhere on the way a camp fire will be lighted to enjoy a real wilderness meal. The groups are limited to 8 participants.
Looking for Silver
The Sala silver mine is great experience for everybody. Learn about the silver, how the workers lived and worked deep under the ground and the important role of horses down there. 155 meters below ground, you will find out how they mined silver there, from as early as the Middle Ages. Exciting and impressive! Do not forget to ask the guide to sing a song.
Hike with Swedish grill
The hikes starts at Färnäs Hjärta B&B. After about 45 minutes, you arrive at the forest cottage where a campfire and candlelight provide a special atmosphere. You will learn how to grill sausages on a stick and how to eat them. Nice meat / vegetarian food and salad will be served.
Your stay - the apartment
The apartment has three spacious double rooms with 2 single beds each. Furthermore there is a living room with pantry with refrigerator, coffee machine and water boiler. For your convenience you will find a dinner table & 6 chairs, a DVD-player a sofa and a bathroom with toilet as well. The big and fully equipped B&B kitchen can be used for making lunches and or dinners. Free WIFI.
Good to know
Sweden is a country for outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, swimming, cycling, canoeing and so on. Nature is unspoiled and accessible for everybody. Most activities require the right clothes.
When doing activities, we strongly advise you to bring a backpack with you containing an extra jumper, a filled water bottle and something to eat. Please bring sturdy shoes as well. At the guesthouse beach towels are available for free
