Enjoy a 7-day trek along the Inca Trail, the most famous trail to get to Machu Picchu. Explore the wonderful citadel of Machu Picchu and discover the magic and beauty of the Andes.Day 1: Arrive to Cusco
After your arrival in Cusco, you'll be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel. You can opt to take a city tour (additional cost) to see places like the cathedral and Koricancha.

Day 2: Open Day at Leisure (B)
After breakfast, you have the rest of the day to spend at your leisure. You can opt to take the Sacred Valley tour (additional cost) and visit Pisa, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and the Chinchero market. Otherwise, you can explore Cusco on your own.

Day 3: Inca Trail Adventure Begins (L) (D)
You be picked up from your hotel at 4:30am (time to be confirmed at the briefing time) and travel by bus to Piskacucho (you will hear this be called kilometer 82) where the trail starts. On arrival at kilometer 82, you'll cross the Vilcanota River and follow its route to the right. The first day is relatively easy and you will have great views of the site of an Inca Fortress. Total distance to be covered is 12 kilometers.

Day 4: Over Two Passes (B) (L) (D)
After waking up at 5:30am and having breakfast, you'll start a steep ascent towards the highest pass: Dead Woman's Pass. On this day a real sense of achievement is felt when you reach the top. After some rest, you'll begin the descent to the lunch stop which is located at Pacaymayu. On the way up to the pass you will be able to see lots of hummingbirds. The total distance to be covered is 16 kilometers.

Day 5: Back in the Past (B) (L) (D)
This is the most impressive day so just keep thinking of that on the ascent. You'll have breakfast at 6am and start the day with a gentle climb to visit the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca and to reach the third highest point on the trail. The views of the mountains, canyons and surrounding areas are spectacular. The Inca site of Phuyupatamarca is located a few minutes by walking from the third pass and after visiting this point. You'll continue walking through the cloud forest and the impressive agricultural Inca site of Intipata to arrive to the last campsite: Wiñay Wayna where you can also visit the ruins of that same name. The total distance to be covered is 10 kilometers.

Day 6: Machu Picchu (B)
We leave the last campsite at about 5:30am on the final day to get to Inti Punku (‘Sun gate’) before sunrise. This is the place from where you will have your first dramatic view of Machu Picchu with the sun rising over it. You'll get a guided tour of the citadel and then explore it on your own. You will meet your guide in Aguas Calientes for lunch and then back to Cusco. The total distance to be covered is 5 kilometers.

Day 7: Depart Cusco (B)
