7-Day Chianti Vacation of Cooking and Culture

The theme of the tour is the kitchen: a journey discovering traditional, natural foods of the region. We will cook meals together with professional chefs using organic produce collected from our gardens. This is a full immersion program in Italian culture. It is a journey through the passions of Italian people designed for those who love this country.

Day 1 Sunday
Meet with the group at the airport, arrival in the afternoon at Poderi in Chianti. Accommodation in apartments in double rooms (single room supplement € 40 per day). Dinner
Day 2 Monday
Free morning. At 12:30 have a light lunch with wine tasting cheeses and Tuscan salami. At 3pm, presentation of the teachers of the philosophy of experience followed by the first cooking class and readings of excerpts of Italian literature. At 8pm, have dinner with meals prepared by the students and introduction to a work of art that will be seen in the Uffizi Gallery.
Day 3 Tuesday
At 9am depart to Florence and visit the city with tourist guide. At 12:30pm visit the central market of San Lorenzo and have free lunch. At 5pm, return to the accommodation and have dinner at 8pm. Engage in conversation about the art works seen in the Uffizi.
Day 4 Wednesday
At 10am participate in a Chianti tour with professional tour guide visit to two wineries. Have light lunch in a cellar. At 2pm return to the accommodation, followed by the second cooking class at 4pm with reading selections of Italian literature. Dinner at 8pm with meals you prepared.
Day 5 Wednesday:
Depart at 9am for a guided tour with a professional guide in Monteriggioni and Siena. At 12:30pm have free lunch and return to the accommodation at 2pm. At 4pm there will be the third cooking class and reading selections of Italian literature. At 8pm eat dinner with meals you prepared and have conversation about art at Uffizi.
Day 6 Friday:
Depart at 9am for Florence and at 10am, visit the Uffizi museum with a professional guide with particular reference to the works discussed at dinners. At 1:30pm have free time for lunch and return to the accommodation at 2pm. At 4pm, participate in the fourth cooking class and read selections of Italian literature. Dinner at 8pm will consist of meals prepared by the students, and we finish the night with a classical music concert at 9:30pm with a soprano and pianist.
Day 7 Saturday
Transfer to the airport at 7:30am, concluding the tour.
