Day 1: Early pick up at your accommodation in Cancun or Riviera Maya area. You will visit Coba Archaeological Site to admire Nohoch Mul pyramid. In Punta Laguna you will try the zip line, trek through the jungle for the wildlife observation and will swim at a cenote which happens to be a Mayan watery grave. Overnight at Valladolid, colonial and magical town.
Day 2: Chichen Itza is home to one of the 7 Marvels of the Modern World, the Temple of Kukulcan. Along the tour you’ll find plenty of images related to war and death. Afterwards you will visit a cave which boosts tribal paintings which had been dated up to 4,000 years old, swim at a cenote and continue to Merida where you may observe some of the traditional altars to honor the souls of those who had passed away. Overnight in Merida.
Day 3: You will start early to visit Uxmal Archaeological Site, followed by a visit to Becal, a friendly town which preserves one of the most fascinating traditions in Yucatan: the manufacture of Panama hats out of the hipi-hapa palm trees. Here is where you may get one of these elegant garments. In Pomuch you will respectfully pay a visit to its rare and unique cemetery. Overnight in Merida.
Day 4: On your way to Ek Balam you will stop at a traditional and colorful market in Valladolid, dare to try the spicy habanero pepper with some cochinita pibil tacos! The Acropolis is one of the largest structures in volume in the Yucatan and houses the tomb of Ek Balam’s powerful ruler Ukit Kan Lek’tok the highest official during the city’s heyday around 800 A.D. At the entrance of the Mausoleum there are statues representing priests guarding the tomb of their master, they exhibit great detail, hair braids, loin cloths and skulls carved into their belts; to cool off you´ll go swimming to a cenote. Overnight at Riviera Maya.
Day 5: The traditional Day of the Dead takes place in Xcaret! You will be able to experience the Hanal Pixan ritual (food for the souls), cuisine of the region, workshops, crafts, gifts and altars, visual arts exhibitions, theater, dance and gala concerts. Enjoy this celebration of the Mayan World dedicated to the memory and coexistence with the deceased. Overnight at Riviera Maya.
Day 6: Free day at the beach to enjoy the sun and the beautiful turquoise waters of the Riviera Maya.
Day 7: Transfer to the Cancun International Airport.
