Day 1: Cusco City Tour
After arriving in Cusco, you'll be transferred to your hotel where you have a free morning to take a rest and get used to the altitude. Afterwards, you'll be picked up from the hotel for a city tour as well as the archeological sites located just outside the city. You'll then return to the city to spend the night in Cusco.
Day 2: Sacred Valley
Today you'll be picked up for a guided tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas where you'll visit the little town of Pisaq and its typical handicraft market and the plaza. Continue on the journey to Urubamba, where an exquisite lunch buffet will be provided, then continue to the tourist center of Ollantaytambo. On your way back to Cusco, you stop off at Chincheros, another tourist center and colonial town. Then it's time to return to Cusco for the night.
Day 3: Full Day at Machu Picchu
Today will start early in the morning where you'll head to the little town named Aguas Calientes. From there, you'll board a bus that takes you to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Enjoy a two hour guided tour in this magic place, as well as plenty of free time to explore more in detail. In the afternoon you'll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch, and then go back to Cusco for the night.
Day 4: Cusco and Puno
Today will have the group traveling to Puno by bus, with 5 stops on the way. The first stop will be Andahuaylillas (3122m altitude). Their church is a small structure consisting of one nave, apse and bell tower, but once you step inside it's a kaleidoscope of color and artwork, giving it the nickname of the Sistine Chapel of the Americas. The next stop will be Raqchi (3450m altitude). with the most important building being the “Temple of Wiracocha” that, according to the old chroniclers, was built by the Inca Wiracocha in honor the Superior God invisible for the Andean people. Buffet lunch will be served in Sicuani (3552m altitude). La Raya Pass (4335m altitude) is the watershed between the valley that drains into Lake Titicaca and the valley that leads down to Cusco and to the Sacred Valley. The final stop in Pukara (3900m altitude) was the first regional population center in the northern Lake Titicaca Basin during the Late Formative Period, providing valuable insights into the origins of Andean civilization in the highlands
Day 5: Puno Uros and Taquile Island
From the hotel, you'll travel to the port for a tour by motor boat as you travel to one of the Uros islands. There, you'll observe the lives of the people who live on floating reed islands some only 20 meters in length. After a beautiful 2 hr boat ride, you'll reach Taquile Island where you can tour around the ruins and visit the local people. After you purchase lunch, you'll return to Puno; then later in the afternoon, you'll make the journey back to Cusco by bus (Please note: you'll be sleeping in the bus on this leg of the tour)
Day 6: End of the Tour
At the scheduled time, you will be transported to the terminal or airport for your departure
