Day 1 Darwin - Kakadu (L,D)
Travel across the Marrakai floodplains of the Adelaide River and on into Kakadu. Learn about the important wetland habitats as you visit Mamukala. Browse through the Bowalli Vistor Centre before viewing ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr. Take in spectacular scenery as you climb atop the rocky outcrop for majestic views of the Arnhemland sandstone plateau. Join the Guluyambi Cultural cruise on the East Alligator River to gain an amazing insight into local customs and dreamtime stories from the local Indigenous guide. You may even see a few Crocodiles! Travel to our permanent campsite at Djarradjin Billabong. Showers and toilet facilities available.
Day 2 Twin Falls, Jim Jim Falls & Kakadu (B,L,D)
Time for a a spot of real 4 Wheel Driving today as you travel out towards Jim Jim and Twin Falls. Enroute to Twin Falls we stop and set up camp at Garnarmarr campground. After crossing the Jim Jim creek, arrive at Twin Falls and take a hike to the top of Twin Falls. Take in the spectacular views and enjoy a swim in a remote lake to cool off. Mid afternoon, cruise through the gorge and admire the towering escarpment from the sandy beach. En route back to camp, walk to the Budjimi lookout for spectacular views as the late afternoon sun produces amazing colors on the sandstone escarpment walls. Overnight camp at Garnarmar campground.
Day 3 Kakadu (B,L,D)
This morning we explore the nearby Nourlangie region viewing rock art, escarpment and wetlands before traveling to the southern sector of the park. You will have the chance to spend some time at the gorgeous walking and swimming area of Maguk before arriving at Gunlom for our overnight camp, hike to the top of the falls to experience the renowned 'Infinity Pool' before settling into camp for the evening.
Day 4 Kakadu - Katherine (B,L,D)
This morning, you have the opportunity to visit the Gunlom plunge pool for an early morning swim before hitting the road again on your journey to the township of Katherine. En route, visit Pine Creek and Edith Falls for the second swim of the day.
Day 5 Katherine - Litchfield (B,L,D)
You have all day to explore the magnificent Katherine Gorge region. There are a few options you can select from on this day which will need to be prebooked:
Day 6 Litchfield - Darwin (B,L)
Today is spend exploring the many waterfalls of Litchfield National Park. Depending on the group, you may get to visit Tollmer, Florence or Wangi Falls, just to name a few. You will be returned back to Darwin at approximately 4pm this evening, just in time to visit the Mindil Beach Markets.
