Accommodation: Enjoy all this from your base, a Boutique A class & newly renovated 1884 traditional Pelion stone mansion house situated in the center of ‘Portaria’, the most popular & accessible village in Pelion and within easy walk of its beautiful sister village 'Makrinitsa'.
Program: Day 1. Thermophpylae and Pelion. From Pickup at your Hotel in Athens we take the opportunity to stop at the site of Thermopylae & visitors center which recreates the ancient battle where King Leonidas led the 300 Spartans in 480BC. After, we continue to a very warm welcome and a seasonal fresh buffet as we orientate you with details of the main sights, attractions and special cultural aspects of the region. Enjoy our free hydro-massage suite before a stroll around the village & dine underneath the 900 year old Plane trees in the main square in an award winning restaurant (dinner included in price). Day 2: Nature trek through the paths of the Centaurs. A unique Nature trek through one of the most beautiful valleys in Pelion along gentle waterfalls & pools lined by the ancient forest learning about the many unique inhabitants of the area from Wild Boar & Dear, to fire Salamanders, & ending at the beautiful traditional sister village of ‘Makrinitsa’ for lunch over the panoramic sea views. Day 3: Meteora. A full day visiting two of the monasteries at Meteora. Built on a natural formation of sandstone rock pillars up to 400 meters high the 6 remaining monasteries date from the 14th century and form a remarkable & awe inspiring combination of nature and spiritual significance. Day 4: Villages and Beaches of Pelion. A full day tour through some of the most beautiful scenery on earth with time to explore at the pace of the group stopping at the most charming local villages and outstanding beaches in Pelion. Day 5: A day just for you. Relax, regenerate, unwind & enjoy the natural beauty of Pelion. Day 6: We wish a fond goodbye to Pelion as we return by private transfer.
