This hiking tour of Machu Picchu will really let you enjoy your vacation in Peru, and it's for people of all ages. It starts and finishes at your hotel in Cusco.Day 1: Cusco – Soraypampa (L, D)
We'll leave Cusco at 4:30am by bus, and drive to Mollepata, approximately 2.5-hour drive. After breakfast we'll start the ascent on foot towards Cruzpata (3100 masl) along a slight climb where we'll appreciate various plants, native birds, the Apurimac river canyon (which is one of the deepest in Peru) and a communal irrigation canal. In Cruzpata. We'll have our lunch and depart at around 1:30pm in the direction of Soraypampa along a climbing trail with many level variations and along which we'll see little groups of houses, flora, small wild birds and spectacular views of the Humantay snow peak Mountain (5902 masl). After approximately 4-hour of walking, we will arrive at our campsite in Soraypampa (3900 masl). From here we can appreciate the majestic Apu Salkantay (6271 masl).

Day 2: Soraypampa – Chaullay (B, L, D)
After an early breakfast we start trekking from Soraypampa approx 6:30am we continue our hiking the Peruvian highland. From this point we can appreciate the spectacular views of the Mountain Salkantay, a stunning snow capped mountain (6,264 m) the second highest peak in Cusco’s region and also the mountains Humantay and Huayanay, white river, small lakes and moraines. Then a further 2-3 hours downhill walk to Camping site at Chaullay 2,920 m. 20 km. approx.

Day 3: Chaullay – Santa Teresa (B, L, D)
Wake up to lovely mountain scenery and a good morning tea. We'll start at 7am for an easy 3 hours of trekking where we'll be introduced to the high Jungle called “Ceja de Selva”. We'll see different kinds of plants, fruits, flowers, birds and also banana trees, coffee and others can be observed and to take amazing pictures. From here take a small car for approximately 45-minute to Santa Teresa village where the hot springs are (optional hot spring bath). Also we will spend a night here. Walking distance approximately 15 Km. Overall the hike will last approximately 9-hour.

Day 4: Santa Teresa – Aguas Calientes (B, L, D)
After breakfast at approximately 8:30am. The trek begins to follow a rising trail where there can be seen plantations of coffee, banana, passion fruit and a lovely view of the Santa Teresa Valley. From here we'll continue walking to Aguas Calientes, arriving around 4:30pm. Then we'll stay in a hostel for the last night. Walking distance approximately 10 km.

Day 5: Aguas Calientes – MachuPicchu

Begin the travel up to the Archaeological site of MachuPicchu and we'll explore the city and enjoy the ancient ruins in the early morning hours. From here (Aguas Calientes) we take the train back to Ollantaytambo (from 6:45pm to 8pm) or (from 7pm to 8:32pm) to connect with the transfer back to the city of Cusco (from 8:25pm to 10:30pm).
