Bike and Hike tour of Victoria's No one and two natural wonders. See the Great Ocean Road and The Grampians as they were meant to be seen. All biking and hiking is on trails, (no road riding). Some driving is necessary to cover the distances of this vast great land.
Day 1
After city pick up drive 1.5 hrs to Point Impossible for morning tea and to begin a 20 km bike ride along The Surf Coast Trail. You will ride past Australia's premier surf beaches such as Torquay, Bells Beach. Some beach riding and swimming may be possible. Finishing at Point Addis for lunch. You will be driven further along The Great Ocean Road ( its too dangerous to cycle on) stopping at lighthouse and hilltop lookouts and spotting koalas in the wild.
Day 2
Drive further along The Great Ocean road stopping to do a short rainforest walk. Walk amongst the tall timbers and ancient ferns. Another 1.5 hr drive to The 12 Apostles area. Morning tea at Princetown overlooking the Gellibrand River. Then its a 7km hike along the last section of The Great Ocean Walk to The 12 Apostles. Arrive there for lunch before all the afternoon tour buses. Optional helicopter flight of the coastline available. There is more to see along this coastline and your guide will take you to places other visitors do not go to such as Thunder cave, The head of the Gellibrand River.
Day 3
There is more to see along the coast with a 1hr drive to Warnambool. Explore this town and its amazing coastline before heading on to Port Fairy via the Rail trail. (37km) passing through quaint dairy country towns.
Day 4
It's a 2 hour drive to The Grampians stopping at Tower Hill reserve to spot emus and kangaroos in this ancient volcano hole. Lunch in the National Park before an afternoon hike of which there are many to choose from. Names such as The Pinnacle, Grand Canyon, Venus Baths are some of the many amazing natural wonders within this park.
Day 5
A morning ride on Halls, Gap bike trail visiting Brambuk Cultural Centre, then after morning tea, visit spectacular Mac Kenzie falls and hike 6km down to Zumsteins picnic area for lunch. In the afternoon its a 3hr drive back to Melbourne.
