DAILY PROGRAM
Tuscia was first and foremost the homeland of the Etruscans, the ancient predecessors of the Romans in Central Italy, and the area boasts archaeological sites of inestimable value. Over a period of 5 days and 4 nights, you'll get to explore necropolises, archaeological sites, ancient buried cities and artifacts of all kinds in verdant, unspoiled natural surroundings.
1st day
Arrival in Viterbo and check-in at B&B or mini-apartment located in the medieval old town. Meet at 1:00 pm for the welcome lunch and afterwards you'll have an afternoon guided tour of the city of Viterbo.
2nd day
Meet at 8:30am and leave for the tour of the Etruscan Necropolis of Norchia. In the afternoon, you'll continue with the tour of the medieval city of Tuscania and its wonderful archaeological sites, but not before enjoying an authentic lunch at a bio farm located in Tuscania countryside.
3rd day
Meet at 8:30am and leave for the tour of the ancient archaeological site of Sutri with lunch in the medieval old town featuring authentic local dishes. In the afternoon, you’ll continue with a visit to the Etruscan Necropolis of Castel d'Asso and its famous “dado” tombs and in the evening, it'll be time to stop at the TermedeiPapi thermal spa for a rejuvenating bath in its warm sulfurous waters.
4th day
Meet at 8:30am and leave for the tour of the Archaeological Park of Vulci, with a lunch in the park afterwards featuring game meats. In the afternoon, tour the Etruscan Necropolis of Vulci and Tarquinia, declared by a historical site and on the UNESCO World Heritage List!
5th day
Breakfast, check out and a free day for some shopping or you can visit the Colle del Duomo Museum.
