On arrival, we are welcomed to the luxurious Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. We retire to enormous cottages for a warm shower and meet later for dinner.
Encounter the gorillas the next morning. The mountain gorillas in the Volcanoes Park are part of a worldwide population of just about 800 individuals. Experienced guides will accompany us on our tracking. Once the gorillas are located, the group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. This is one of the world's truly memorable experiences-a look into one of these magnificent creature's eyes brings home the poignant fact that they are on the edge of extinction, and that our presence here contributes to ensuring their continued survival. Return to venue as per the previous day.
Rwanda- Nkuringo
Depart the lodge early morning to head for Uganda through Cyanika border. Upon arrival in Kisoro you will head to the shores of Lake Mutanda to conduct a canoe excursion with our walking safaris team. Your vehicle will meet you at Rwanjeje site to rendezvous with you to Nkuringo.
Second gorilla Tracking
You will have a second day of Gorilla tracking either Nkuringo or Rushaga groups proceed 300m to Nkuringo or 23km to Rushaga with your safari vehicle for the tracking activity. You get the chance to trek and follow the gorillas first hand with experienced and knowledgeable game rangers. This Safari is challenging, therefore a certain amount of physical fitness is required but is very rewarding when you finally meet face to face with the big primates.
The next morning you will depart Nkuringo to Kigali for your evening flight back home.
