Start your tour with hotel pickup for the drive to the dune buggy base, about 15 minutes from La Romana and Bayahibe. Meet your local guide, who will give you a safety briefing and show you how to operate your four-wheel-drive buggy.
Then strap on your provided helmet, hop inside your buggy (either solo or with a partner, depending on option selected) and take off through the countryside, following your guide down remote dirt roads. Admire the lush green vegetation and surrounding sugarcane plantations, pass by local villages and come upon the banks of the Chavón, a river where scenes have been shot for films like Jurassic Park and Apocalypse Now.
Eventually, return to the base, where you can change out of your dirty clothes and rehydrate with provided beverages before you’re driven back to your hotel.
When booking, choose either a morning or afternoon tour.
