Example full day city tour itinerary:
Meet your tour guide at your pre-arranged time and place, probably your hotel. Together with the tour guide you'll start with a transfer by tram in the direction of the Opera house, the first stop of the tour. Then, continue on foot along Lake Zurich to Bürkliplatz, the best place to photograph the city, lake and mountains in one picture. After a short tram ride stop at Paradeplatz in the heart of the financial district before heading along Bahnhofstrasse, the place for window-shopping in some of the world's most exclusive brand stores.
With your tour guide, you cross over to the old town with its small streets and fantastic renovated houses and arrive at the main train station in Zurich. Get an understanding of Swiss public transport. After crossing the Limmat river, you'll board the cable car up to the university terraces, from where you will have an overview of the city center. Your tour guide leads you the same way back and continue with a walk through "the village", a part of the old town now used as an entertainment district. Pass the local parliament and stop at the famous guild houses. Your tour guide will show you the bridge, with the Grossmünster church behind you and the Fraumünster church ahead.
