Come along for a small-group adventure! Experience the best of the Virgin Island's natural beauty on a four hour kayak and snorkel tour with an experienced guide. Venture out sea kayaking to a small island off the coast of St. Thomas to discover the wonders of swimming with sea turtles. On this kayak and snorkeling adventure you will experience the thrill of open sea kayaking and swimming with sea turtles in their natural environment. Groups are limited to 6 people per guide, ensuring a personalized experience.
This four hour tour begins on Thomas at Lindbergh Bay Beach, on the southwest side of St. Thomas which is far less developed and is favorite local beach. Upon reaching the beach, life jackets, and snorkeling gear are provided. A dry bag is available to store small belongings. Your guide will provide a kayak lesson on the beach before helping you launch your kayak. We paddle in tandem (double) kayaks. During your paddle along the peninsula, your guide will narrate the history surrounding Lindbergh Bay and provide a few breaks before guiding you over the channel to a small island (about 45-60 minutes kayaking to the island, including time for breaks).
Upon reaching the shore, you can relax while having a snack of granola bars and bottled water . After your break, your guide will join you in a protected bay to snorkel with sea turtles. The bay is frequented by turtles, so you are sure to have the opportunity to see these amazing creatures up close. On average, we see six turtles – sometimes we see 10 or more!
After snorkeling, enjoy the beautiful beach where complimentary chaise lounge chairs are available with shade from an umbrella or surrounding coconut trees. Or, if you have worked up an appetite from snorkeling, stop at the beach-side grill where you can get food for purchase. There are tables under a canopy or with umbrellas to provide shade. The menu consists of sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, fish tacos, small snacks and more (Vegetarian and gluten free options available) served with an ocean view, all entrees are $14 or less.
Finish your tour with a paddle back to St. Thomas. The return paddle generally takes less time as you are going with the current. Once on land, there are showers and changing rooms where you can freshen up.
Please note: Kayaking distance is approximately 1.5 miles each way. As we kayak in the open sea, parts of the kayaking will be more challenging. This tour is suited towards those that are active, fit and love an adventure!
