Arrive Thursday and experience three nights/four days of culinary intrigue, great coastal hiking and walking, and a unique music scene unmatched anywhere in Canada. This multi-day tour uses food as a conduit to cross cultural barriers, allowing you to peer further into the rich Newfoundland cultural scene.
On the first stop on your culinary adventure, you’ll have hard-to-get reservations at the city’s most exciting dining destinations. One is helmed by a Top Chef Canada fan favorite. The other was named Canada’s best new restaurant—and best restaurant, period—by the country’s leading food critics. You're guide will take you to many other local gems too, so you can sample everything from fresh seafood and traditional baked goods to vegetarian dishes for the rest of your time in town.
St. John's is Newfoundland’s capital city, and North America's oldest. You’ll spend three nights here, based at Hare's Ears Cottage, a light-filled restored heritage cottage overlooking the sea in the Outer Battery Neighborhood. Battery is one of the oldest and most colorful neighborhoods in St. John's.
Hare's Ears is a short hike from Signal Hill National Historic Park, via the North Head Trail, which starts quite literally at your doorstep. During the three to four days you spend here in England's first colony, you can listen to live Celtic music, hike the extensive coastal trail system or simply head to the independent boutiques and crafters’ studios to find one-of-a-kind souvenirs.
We have already made your dining reservations, booked your vehicle and prepared Hare's Ears Cottage for your stay - a place of twisty roads, fishing stages and friendly Newfoundlanders. Your tour package includes a guide to the city that will keep you as busy exploring areas only the locals would know.
