Day 1: Arrival To The Amazon (L,D)
Upon your arrival at the airport, your representative will take you to the river port. Board a private boat and take a river journey to the local lodge. Soon after settling in, you will take a quick tour of the jungle, where you will see exotic trees, lizards, birds, and insects. After having lunch at the lodge, you will be treated to a private river boat ride by twilight. Witness the enchanting transformation of the Amazon jungle from day to night and the new creatures that emerge from the darkness. Keep your eyes to the banks as you explore the river and search for nighttime species, such as nightjars, owls, capybaras and caimans.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake, Canopy Walkway (B, L, D)
After breakfast, your private tour guide will take you on an excursion to Sandoval Lake. Begin with a 30-minute boat trip to the Tambopata National Reserve. Smell the fresh air and hear the beautiful bird songs as you walk for 1-hour through the rainforest to the Sandoval Lake. Upon your arrival, a wooden canoe will be ready and waiting to take you in search of marvelous Amazonian critters such as giant otters, red howler monkeys, macaws, pre-historic hoatzins, and anacondas. In the afternoon, head to the Canopy Walkway, where you will walk through the Amazon treetops on suspension bridges, linked to observation platforms that give spectacular views.

Day 3: Gamitana Creek, Spa (B, L, D)
Have breakfast, then enjoy an adventurous walk for 2.5-hours that follows the Gamitana Creek, home to piranhas, caimans, turtles, and a brightly-colored Amazonian birds. Next, you will reach the embankment point, where you will board a canoe for your 2-hour ride downstream to the Gamita Model Farm. Walk through the Model Farm and observe the rich plant and animal life before returning to the lodge via boat. Once you arrive back at the lodge, you will be treated to a relaxing Spa Visit, whereby all of the products are derived from nature botanical extracts.

Day 4: Butterfly House and to Airport (B)
On your final day, you will be taken to the Butterfly House, where you will see and learn about the diverse characteristics of the many species of butterflies. From here, a driver will take you to the Puerto Maldonado Airport.
