This 3-hour tour brings you in an all-terrain vehicle to explore the beautiful stretch of land known as Deadvlei and Sossusvlei. This place is a paradise for photographers as they contrast between the pitch-black trees, bleached-white pans, rusty-red dunes and deep-blue sky to make for incredible images.
As soon as the park opens, depart from lodge to explore this unique area, heading straight to Deadvlei for the sunrise over this large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal trees.
You will travel in an all-terrain URI game viewer vehicles, custom-built in Namibia for the Lodge. Your own specially trained guide will share all his knowledge of the area, animals, plant life and much more with you. Regular stops are made on the spectacular 60km (37mi) drive through the dune corridor down to the vlei.
The route is marked with wooden poles. The first part of the journey takes you over a clay pan. Note the changing shades of the dunes as the sun moves higher in the sky. The vlei is possibly the lease visited of all and offers you an opportunity to enjoy some solitude surrounded by a unique and impressive scene of desert beauty.
Deadvlei is at least 1km (.6mi) walk from the parking lot so be sure to take drinking water with you. After exploring this area for about 3 hours, you will then walk back to the vehicle where you will then be take back to the lodge.
